After care matters! Learn how vitamin intake can help with hair loss.

Is your hair thinning?  Do you wish there was something that could increase the density of your hair?  Well, now there is! Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is now being used to promote hair growth in areas where the hair is thinning. Human blood contains stem cells and other growth factors that help in tissue healing and regeneration. Our procedure Platelet Rich Fibrin Matrix (PFRM) is an advancement in PRP and extends the activation time for maximum results.  It is a non-surgical procedure that utilizes your own blood to stimulate the hair follicle, increase hair growth and increased density.

After treatment/care is always an important step in aesthetic medicine.  You should always ensure you understand the post procedure process to provide for the best aesthetic outcome.  For this treatment, it has been found that taking a supplement can complement the PRFM procedure. The vitamin supplement is called Vivsiscal® Professional.  These supplements nourish hair follicles from within, strengthen and promote the growth of existing hair, and promote the growth of hair that has slowed or stopped growing.  Using these supplements will leave the hair stronger, healthier and more vibrant. The Viviscal Professional supplements contain the exclusive and clinically proven marine complex AminoMar® which is derived from key marine sources that promote hair growth and thickness.  It also contains Biotin, Vitamin C, Apple Extract and L-Cystine and L-Methionine. All these are ingredients aid in increasing hair density, diameter and growth. A study by Viviscal Professionals showed that 92% of women noticed an increase in their hair thickness by using these vitamins.

Everything You need to Know About Microneedling with PRFM

Patients are looking for effective treatments that are minimally invasive, have nominal recovery periods and long lasting results. Microneedling is an amazing treatment for facial rejuvenation and can achieve these results. Microneedling, aka Collagen Induction Therapy, makes tiny puncture wounds to the skin stimulating collagen, circulation and elastin. This treatment addresses fine lines, wrinkles, enlarged pores, scarring and age spots

How could this treatment get any better?

By adding PRFM (Platelet Rich Fibrin Matrix), which is a highly concentrated serum that aids in your body’s natural healing process. This serum, otherwise known as liquid gold, contains platelet derived growth factors that will aid in the proliferation of new cells. PRFM is created by drawing blood from the patient and then placing it in a centrifuge. The centrifuge separates the rich plasma from the red and white cells. Up to this stage is it considered PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) and many clinics pair this with microneedling.

PRFM takes it one step further by adding calcium chloride to the plasma which builds a fibrin matrix. This matrix lengthens the activation time of the growth factors to up to 7 days allowing your skin to achieve maximum results. The PRFM is driven into the dermis when combined with microneedling. The tiny punctures in the skin allows the plasma to enter the skin layer more efficiently increasing the healing process while stimulating collagen and elastin growth. PRP and PRFM are innovative techniques in the aesthetics world and are widely used in sports medicine through injections to help athletes heal from injuries and speed recovery times.

What to Expect

Prior to beginning the treatment, a topical numbing cream is applied. At the conclusion of treatment your skin may feel tight and will look pink, similar to a sunburn. There is a possibility of slight swelling. Typically this may last for 24-72 hours. You may have some flaking and peeling over the course of the week. The results are reduced pores, softer scars, firmer skin and a more even skin tone. It is recommended to use gentle skin care products until the skin is fully recovered. For optimum results it is suggested 3-4 treatments spaced 4-6 wks. apart. This treatment is one of the most innovative, minimally invasive treatments with proven results. As a Registered Nurse and Aesthetician I am excited to offer this to all my patients.
