The gift of plastic surgery?

The gift of plastic surgery? Is that Acceptable?

You may have heard of cosmetic surgery being given as a gift in the past – perhaps a husband gave his wife a breast augmentation for Christmas or a Rhinoplasty for Mother’s Day ? At first glance, this may seem inappropriate, but why since many receive gift certificates to other establishments like spas, restaurants and stores?

The reason is that it’s a little more complicated than it seems at first. Most plastic surgeons draw the line at a consultation as the only reasonable plastic surgery gift. However, if the doctor and patient agree that a procedure is reasonable, and the patient desires the procedure then certainly the patient can have a third party pay for it. At that point, there are only financial obligations, but not ethical issues.

Note to the men out there. Don’t surprise your significant other with a nose job that she has never mentioned before or isn’t on board with – you might end up in the dog house. Send her to the spa instead.

Get Your Confidence Back! Solutions For Breast Surgery Recovery

Over the past 25 years, I have performed many reconstructive breast surgeries. Some on women who have undergone breast surgery and some on women who have undergone a mastectomy – all with a common goal to restore their femininity and natural appearance by reconstructing their breasts.

New medical techniques and devices have made it possible for surgeons to create a breast that can come close in form and appearance to matching a natural breast. There are often many options to consider and discuss with your doctor to determine what is best for you. After undergoing the surgical procedure, creating the nipple/areola is the final component to making your breast reconstruction complete; our permanent areola/nipple repigmentation techniques uses cosmetically tattooed micropigmentation as a way to restore the natural beauty of your breasts. It takes into consideration breast contour, areola position and creates the illusion of nipple protrusion factoring in your own skin tone and color.

The reconstruction of the nipple/areola helps to put the finishing touches on the new breast after a long journey in reconstruction. There are a number of factors that help determine which method of breast and nipple reconstruction are right for you. All of the options would be discussed during your consultation. For most mastectomy patients, breast reconstruction dramatically improves their appearance and quality of life following surgery.

Sculptra – facial injectable for more youthful appearance

sculptra-troy-miSculptra Aesthetic can provide and restore a youthful appearance that lasts up to two years. Sculptra is the first facial injectable that gives you subtle results over time. It is a type of facial injectable made from poly-L-lactic acid, which induces your body to make new collagen. The main ingredient is a biocompatible, biodegradable synthetic material that has been used by physicians for decades.

Sculptra takes a more subtle approach and gives a more natural looking appearance. The results don’t appear over night. On average the patient would receive two to three injection sessions over a few months, which allows for a gradual facial restoration and enhanced youthfulness. The most common areas of the face that are treated are the lines between the nose and the mouth (nasolabial folds), lines framing the mouth (marionette lines) and cheeks.

The option of subtly restoring the facial fullness is an additional benefit to the fact that it lasts up to two years, especially for those men and women who want to enhance their appearance but don’t want it glaringly obvious the next day. Sculptra Asthetic, a subtle approach.
