What is the difference between aesthetic fillers and neurotoxins injections for facial aging?

Aesthetic fillers are injectables used to instantly smooth and plump the skin. Most of these are
made with hyaluronic acid. This acid is present in all living organisms. It is natural to your body
and adds volume and restores a more youthful appearance by filling wrinkle lines or areas
needing more fullness. Many of the brands we use in our office are FDA approved for
superficial, medium and deep wrinkles; vertical rhytids (smoker lines), smile lines, nasolabial
folds and marionette's lines. Proven to give beautiful and long lasting results from 6 months
and up to 18 months depending upon the filler selected.

Neurotoxin injections, most commonly referred to as “Botox™”, are injections that smooth
deep facial lines by relaxing the muscles that form facial wrinkles. Most common areas are the
vertical, angry lines between your brows, forehead wrinkles and crow’s feet. These are also FDA
approved for forehead and glabella areas. Botox, a brand of neurotoxin, has been prescribed
for decades for treatment of muscle spasms and other non-cosmetic areas. Neurotoxin results
last for 3 to 4 months.

Say Goodbye to your Double Chin!

If your double chin leaves you feeling down, we offer a product to dissolve away your excess chin. Kybella® is the first and only FDA approved prescription medicine aimed to improve the appearance and profile of the moderate to severe fat below the chin (double chin). Kybella is made of deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. Once the fat is broken down it leaves the body through your natural metabolism.

The treatment itself is done in our office with a series of injections spaced approximately six weeks apart. Most people need at least 2-3 treatments (maximum of 6). Downtime is minimal and you can resume your normal daily activities after the procedure. The most common side effect is swelling. This can last anywhere between 1 and 3 weeks. Remember this procedure is no incisions, no stitches, and no scars.

If you are tired of your double chin and do not want corrective surgery, this may be the best option for you. To find out more and see if you would be a good candidate for Kybella please call and schedule a free consultation with Dr. Kroese. 248-524- 0620
